Supported by funding such as that of the Loterie Romande, the FabLab plays an essential role for the local community, by offering offers for schools, associations and companies wishing to organize creative events and strengthen the cohesion of their teams. FabLabs, the concept of which was launched in the 2000s by Neil Gershenfeld at MIT, were born from the idea of democratizing access to digital fabrication technologies. This global movement allows everyone, novice or expert, to transform their ideas into concrete objects using the tools provided in these fabrication laboratories. Today, there are more than 2,000 FabLabs worldwide, offering shared creative spaces to encourage local and sustainable innovation.
